Compost Works for Your Home

How it works:

That rich, earthy smell you get when digging into your garden is a sign of healthy soil teaming with life. Good quality compost that is worked into your garden and flower beds provides your soil with the essential microbiology, organic matter, carbon and nutrients it needs. A healthy soil enables the best vegetables, fruits and flowers to thrive.

Planting a new lawn? Set it up for success with compost in the topsoil before seeding or placing sod. Compost helps establish soil structure for better water retention as well as nutrient uptake.

For established lawns we have developed a dried compost granule that allows you to top dress as easily as using any dry fertilizer. Just run it through a spin spreader and the granules fall between the blades and the biology revives when rewetted by irrigation or rain.

After mowing your lawn and trimming the hedges bring your yard waste out to the Winton Compost Works and drop it off. We’ll take that material and recycle it into high quality compost in our state-of-the-art facility. Our staff would be happy to show you how we’ve transformed the abandoned Winton sawmill into a sustainable production facility.
